As part of the Commemorations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th, a small colloquium was organized to analyze the impact of the revolutionary process of April 25th, 1974, on the vision of the Middle Ages in Portugal.
This scientific event will take place on September 20th, between 10 am and 6 pm, online (via Zoom).
The session has a double objective. On the one hand, we will reflect on the impact of April 25th on medieval historiography and its academic activity in Portugal. On the other hand, the effects of April 25th on the uses of the medieval past throughout Portuguese society will be the subject of a comparative analysis with the use/s of the Middle Ages during the Estado Novo.
