This seminar focuses on the recognition of interdisciplinary work, namely between History of Art and Conservation and Restoration, regarding the recovery project of medieval manuscripts belonging to the District Archive of Braga – among them a Diurnal and a Livro de Horas. Developed at the National Archive of Torre do Tombo (ANTT), this interdisciplinary partnership follows the cooperation protocol already existing between the IEM and that institution and has contributed to a stimulating technical and scientific performance.

Coordinated by Inês Correia, ANTT Conservator-restorer and researcher at the Institute for Medieval Studies, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, New University of Lisbon (IEM), the project was developed between late 2015 and early 2016, as a team, by two Conservators-restorers hired for this purpose, Diana Pires and Liliana Silva, and two researchers from IEM-FCSH/NOVA, Ana Lemos and Catarina Fernandes Barreira. The very positive results of the integrated study of the manuscripts and their contextualization are now disclosed in this seminar, giving continuity to the events of valorization and dissemination of cultural heritage.

This seminar will be opened by Anabela Ribeiro (DDPCD/DGLAB) and will have presentations by Catarina Fernandes Barreira, Liliana Silva, Ana Lemos and Diana Pires.
