Atelier for Initiation to Research in Medieval Studies I
1st semester of the 2025/2026 academic year
As part of its training offer, the IEM presents the Atelier for Initiation to Research in Medieval Studies I, available to students of all Licenciatura (Bachelor’s degree) (1st Cycle) programs. This course unit (CU) has a total of 23 places and grants 6 ECTS credits.
The main objectives of this CU are:
a) to acquire practical research skills in Medieval Studies;
b) to foster the ability to organize and present valid research results in collective projects;
c) to encourage the ability to communicate and discuss the implications of results according to academic standards;
d) to learn techniques and establish work routines for research in the various fields of Medieval Studies: Archaeology, Art, History, and Literature.
According to each student’s specific area, they will be integrated into one of the ongoing research projects at the IEM, where they will be taught research methodologies appropriate to the objectives of the tasks to be carried out within the project.
For each undergraduate student, specific objectives will be defined and a work plan designed to ensure the acquisition of research skills and the achievement of the established goals. The available places for each project can be consulted in the Course Unit Description.
