The UNESCO Chair – Cultural Heritage of the Oceans program presented by João Almeida and broadcast by Antena 2 featured the participation of several IEM researchers.
The UNESCO Chair “The Cultural Heritage of the Oceans” is coordinated by CHAM – Center for Humanities and has the partnership of NOVA FCSH’s research units: IELT – Institute for the Study of Literature and Tradition, IEM – Institute for Medieval Studies and IHC – Institute for Contemporary History.
In addition to these, the Chair also has several partner institutions, such as the OMA – Observatório do Mar dos Açores, the APCM – Associação Para as Ciências do Mar and the IPC – Instituto do Património Cultural de Cabo Verde.
Each program of the first series broadcast between October and December 2018 features a guest: João Paulo Oliveira e Costa (CHAM), Cristina Brito (CHAM), José António Bettencourt (CHAM), Ana Catarina Garcia (CHAM), Joana Gaspar Freitas (IELT), Hamilton Fernandes (IPC), Maria de Fátima Nunes (IHC), Amélia Andrade (IEM), Carla Alferes Pinto (CHAM), Henrique Cabral (FCUL), Inês Carvalho (APCM), Maria Joana Cruz (OMA) and Márcia Dutra (OMA). Each broadcast lasts around 30 minutes.
The 2nd series, broadcast between April and May 2020, consists of 8 programs focusing on relevant figures linked to the Cultural Heritage of the Oceans. Each program features a guest: João Paulo Oliveira e Costa (CHAM), Maria Barreto Dávila (CHAM), Carla Varela Fernandes (IEM), Ana Cláudia Silveira (IEM), Ana Teresa Hilário (CHAM), Ana Paula Pires (IHC), Gonçalo Melo da Silva (IEM), and Nina Vieira (CHAM).
