The III Jornadas Internacionales de Historia del Mundo Atlántico en la Modernidad Early, organized by PIMAMT and co-organized by the Institute for Medieval Studies, continues the academic exchange started in October 2018. This third event will focus on “Empires, Circulation and Conflicts in the Atlantic World”.

The main objectives of these days include the promotion of dialogue and the exchange of previous days, the dissemination of research results from the Programa Interinstitucional el Mundo Atlántico en la Modernidad Temprana and the strengthening of collaborations with national and international universities, as well as the promotion of dissemination educational and the development of individual projects.

Thematic Table Proposals

Members of the Programa Interinstitucional el Mundo Atlántico en la Modernidad Temprana and independent researchers from other institutions can submit research summaries on the Atlantic World from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

The objective is to analyze historical issues at local, regional and imperial levels. Proposals for Thematic Tables must be submitted by March 31, 2025, and will consist of 2 to 3 organizers from different institutions.

Each proposal must include the thematic table’s title, the organisers’ names and a summary (500-1000 words) in Word format (doc or docx, Times New Roman, size 12). Thematic tables must present 6 to 10 works; at least one organizer must attend the congress if the presentation is hybrid. Proposals must be sent to pimamt@fahce.unlp.edu.ar.

Proposals for Presenting Research Projects

Proposals for Presenting Research Projects and forming networks are open until March 31, 2025. Presentations can be made individually or by a team of up to 3 members and will be included in thematic tables. Send proposals to pimamt@fahce.unlp.edu.ar with the subject “Research Projects”, including:

  • General title
  • Project title
  • Institutions involved
  • Presenters’ names
  • A summary of the principal axes of the project (maximum 150 words) in Word format (doc or docx), Times New Roman, size 12.

Book presentation

The books will be presented at a permanent stand every day. The authors must send two colored posters in A3 and A4 sizes containing the book cover and a brief written review that must be sent to pimamt@fahce.unlp.edu.ar with the subject “Table of recent publications”. Proposals will be received until March 31, 2025.
