As part of its training offer, FCSH and IEM presents the Workshop on Initiating Research in Medieval Studies II, available to all 1st Cycle (Bachelor) courses students.

This Curricular Unit (CU) has 22 places and offers an accreditation of 6 ECTS.

The main objectives of this free elective are:

  • The acquisition of practical research skills in Medieval Studies;
  • Foster the ability to organize and present valid research results in collective projects;
  • Stimulate the ability to communicate and discuss the implications of results according to academic canons;
  • To learn techniques and create research work routines in the different areas of Medieval Studies: Archaeology, Art, History, and Literature.

According to each student’s specific area, they will be integrated into one of the research projects taking place at IEM. In this context, they will be taught research methodologies appropriate to the objectives of their tasks within the project’s scope.

Specific objectives will be defined for each graduate student, and a work plan will be designed for them to acquire research skills and fulfill the established goals.
