On March 13th, IEM researchers João Luís Fontes, Maria Filomena Andrade and Rolando Volzone, together with architect Sofia Aleixo, presented the panel “Franciscan Observance in Portugal: contexts, materialities and (re)significances” within the scope of the international conference “The Franciscan Tradition: Retrieval and Innovation. The Second International Franciscan Studies Conference“, organized by the Center for Catholic Studies at Durham University.

The three communications crossed different scientific areas (History, Architecture and Landscape, Digital Humanities, Cultural Heritage, Heritage Conservation), enabling an integrated look at the experiences of the Franciscan Observance in Portugal.
