On 7 March 2021, Filomena Barros suddenly passed away. In her honour, a congress is to take place on 2 and 3 June 2022 at the University of Évora, and followed by an open day held in the Main Hall of the Garcia de Resende Theatre on 4 June 2022. The aim is to celebrate her work and her person in a format she would have appreciated. Thus, this seeks to combine the themes to which she devoted her research with those that, as a historian and as a citizen, stimulated her interest. History and citizenship, two inseparable dimensions in the memories of Filomena Barros.
