The IEM may proudly announce the awarding of the A. de Almeida Fernandes Prize to Luís Miguel Rêpas, a researcher and integrated member of the Institute, for his doctoral thesis “Esposas de Cristo. As comunidades cistercienses femininas na Idade Média” (“Wives of Christ. The female Cistercian communities in the Middle Ages”). This prize, which pays homage to the historian Armando de Almeida Fernandes, is designed to recognise and encourage research studies in Portuguese Medieval History. Any works published in the two previous years and unpublished original works were eligible for this award.
