The most recent call for R&DT Projects held by the FCT resulted in the recommendation for funding in the PeX category (“exploratory project”), the application entitled Hypothesising Human-Animal Relations in Medieval Portugal / Formulando o relacionamento entre humanos e outras espécies no Portugal medievo (EXPL/HAR-HIS/1135/2021).

The project, led by Tiago Viúla de Faria (IEM NOVA-FCSH) and co-led by Rémy Cordonnier (IEM / Bibliothèque de Saint-Omer / Institut de Recherches Historiques du Septentrion), aims to bring together methodologies and epistemological approaches from history, archaeology, literary studies, visual arts and communications science in order to frame reflections on the relationship between medieval individuals and communities and the animal world.

Further project information will be made available via a webpage to be announced during 2021.
