A still confined IEM in May but increasingly open to the World!

This newsletter is one of hope, strength and the desire to do more and better!

For the third month in a row, we had to cancel some of our activities due to COVID 19 demands.

However, this time, we are already determined to do more than just get by. We aim to start living this period with enthusiasm and the joy that characterise the IEM team and its dynamics. Last month, we held an online conference on the “Political Society of Iberian Cities” and launched the Fernão Lopes Website in English.

This month, we will have a live broadcast, via zoom and Facebook, of the first IEM conference this year given by Professor Pere Verdés on the construction of places of memory in Medieval Catalonia, and the seminars on “Heraldry in Itinerant European Legal Manuscripts” in a Webinar format and so we are equally open to the world! We will also be virtually present, and as MEDCRAFTS project participating members, at the videoconference “Workshop MEDCRAFTS: Masters in the Portuguese Medieval City”, organised by Maria Amélia Campos (CHSC/U.Coimbra), reinforcing our conviction that collaborative work only strengthens us.

We shall continue to announce our projects and the works of our researchers as well as the IEM publications and open resources of assistance to us all.
