Launching in June 2019, the ERC VINCULUM project – Entailing Perpetuity: Family, Power, Identity. The Social Agency of a Corporate Body (Southern Europe, 14th-17th Centuries), led by Professor Maria de Lurdes Rosa, is organising the meeting “Shared History”, aimed especially at private archive owners, heraldists, genealogists and those responsible for public and private archives.

With the awareness that the knowledge obtained from documentation originating from, or preserved in private archives helps fill gaps in the collective knowledge and holds the potential to enable countless advances in research, this meeting aims to establish a fruitful and joint dialogue in order to develop solutions that allow document preservation and the gathering of hitherto unpublished or poorly known sources of historical information.

This meeting will take place on 30th September (Monday), from 4:30 to 6pm, in Lisbon, on the new premises of NOVA FCSH – Almada Negreiros College (a former Jesuit College), on the Campolide Campus of NOVA University.

The entrance is free but subject to registration. Due to the venue’s capacity, 50 places have been reserved for registered participants, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, by email to: projectmanager.vinculum@fcsh.unl.pt
