Result of the partnership between IEM and JN História, the February 2024 edition, no. 48, presents a set of reports that included the collaboration of researchers from the Institute.

“Women and Books in the Middle Ages” is the cover theme of this edition and refers to a dossier (with seven texts) coordinated by Luís Rêpas within the scope of the Project “Books, rituals and Space in a female Cistercian Monastery. Living, reading and praying in Lorvão in the 13th to 16th centuries”, which highlights the work that has been developed on the multifaceted relationship between women and books in the Middle Ages.

This dossier has texts by Luís Rêpas, Maria Helena da Cruz Coelho, Ana Maria Rodrigues, Inês Olaia, Filipe Alves Moreira, Joana Gomes, João Luís Fontes, Maria Filomena Andrade, Paula Cardoso, Marta Simões and Carla Varela Fernandes.
