Sofia Tereso
Sofia Tereso, graduated in Archaeology (2003) at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and Master in Biological Anthropology (2009) at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. Currently, PhD student in Biological Anthropology at the Department of Life Sciences (University of Coimbra), with a FCT grant (SFRH / BD / 116363/2016). Her research focuses mainly on Early Medieval funerary contexts and in Biological Anthropology. She participated in the team of some Archaeological Projects, highlighting the project “From the capital of Zoelas to Brigantia”, where she was responsible for the excavation of the necropolis of Torre Velha site (Castro de Avelãs, Bragança). She has several articles in book chapters and in specialized journals, emphasizing the last publication in the prestigious journal The Lancet, as 2nd author and responsible for the anthropology team involved in the investigation.
