Maria Manuela Catarino
Master’s Degree in History – specialization Medieval History – Universidade Nova, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, in 1998.
Graduated in History – degree conferred by the Faculty of Arts of Universidade Clássica de Lisboa, in 1980.
She was a Primary and Secondary School Teacher (History) between 1975 and 2021.
She is currently a Researcher at the Institute of Medieval Studies – NOVA FCSH.
She has privileged her academic work in the areas of rural and urban history (14th-15th centuries), with a special interest in medieval food.
At the invitation of the Torres Vedras City Hall, she has participated in local activities, presenting papers in scientific meetings (Turres Veteras) and publishing articles on local history and heritage.
She collaborates, as an associate, with the Associação para a Defesa e Divulgação do Património Cultural de Torres Vedras (ADDPCTV).
