In February, there is the launch of a new seminar cycle jointly organised by the Institute of Medieval Studies (IEM) and the Centre for the Study of Sociology and Musical Aesthetics (CESEM), both research units of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, NOVA University (NOVA FCSH), entitled: “Seminário de Investigação Interdisciplinar” (Interdisciplinary Research Seminar), coordinated by researchers Elsa De Luca (CESEM-NOVA FCSH) and Alicia Miguélez (IEM-NOVA FCSH).
The idea of bringing together researchers in an interdisciplinary research space to discuss some specific aspects related to music, liturgy, art, palaeography and the conservation of Iberian manuscripts arose out of the Interdisciplinary Conference on Iberian Manuscripts (School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Lisbon, October 2017).
Following this initiative, the Interdisciplinary Research Seminar aims to deepen the study and the description of different aspects of Iberian manuscripts, in particular from the medieval period but not exclusively.
This initiative aims to create bridges between scholars from different areas of both the Humanities and the Experimental Sciences, and to promote dialogue and scientific exchange among them.
The sessions will take place once a month during the second semester of the 2017-2018 academic year, at NOVA FCSH (Building ID, Multipurpose Room 2), from 5pm to 6.30pm, with free entrance.
