Highlighting the continuous dialogue between the Middle Ages and the post-medieval world, In the Middle is an international interdisciplinary conference that seeks to explore the ways, methods and motivations in which the medieval period has been imagined, evoked, re-lived, and refashioned in contemporary popular culture. Hosted by the Institute for Medieval Studies (IEM-NOVA FCSH), the conference will take place in Lisbon, at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities, on November 21-22, 2019.
In addition to the conference, the institute is promoting a Medieval Jam Session, starting at 7 PM in Taverna Medieval Trobadores (Rua de São Julião 27 Underground Baixa-Chiado).
