The subject proposed seeks to broaden and enrich the teaching offer about medieval towns.

The program and teaching methodology outlined will allow to achieve two important goals.

Firstly, incorporating the most recent research carried out within the scope of individual projects, such as MEDDOCS, and team projects, such as MEDCFRAFT and FRONTOWNS, funded by the FCT.

Likewise, it will improve students’ knowledge, enabling them to pursue further studies of medieval studies in PhDs degrees since.

Finally, it may also raise the interest of students from other MA, since the growth of urban centres, tourism and creative industries make it increasingly necessary policy makers and professionals able to know the medieval urban heritage, as well as its influence on urban spaces today.
