Next week marks the beginning of the XVI Ruralia Conference (European Association for Medieval and Post-Medieval Rural Archaeology), under the theme “Countryside and towns. Rural settlements in the context of urban hinterlands in the Medieval and Modern Periods.” The sessions will start on September 8 and run until the 14th. This year, the event takes place in Kłodzko, Poland. The Ruralia meetings are organized every two years in one of the member countries of the committee and are a landmark event for researchers dedicated to the study of rural spaces and communities.
During these days, the next organizer will be announced, and the volume from the Ruralia XV Meeting, dedicated to the theme “Farmers’ trade and markets. Social and economic interaction in the medieval and early modern European countryside,” will be presented. The volume is available in open access and can be consulted on the Associacion’s website.
