It is with every pleasure that we may announce the launch of issue no. 26 of Medievalista on 1st July. A thematic dossier of the utmost importance.

This issue again contains a thematic dossier, dedicated to Romanesque sculpture, coordinated by Lucretia Kargère, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In the articles, authors from various European countries dialogue in order to deepen the understanding of this field that has so marked the European medieval artistic panorama.

The critical reviews cover topics such as the world of the medieval university, the ceremonial usage of water in the Castilian court and a publication on Viking history and culture. Some recent theses are also featured ranging from the history of art to the written memory of military orders and the representations of scholars in Portuguese late medieval chronicles. Two events related to the comparative study of warfare in the Middle Ages and the “Researching the Middle Ages” workshop are also reported on.

This issue counts on the collaboration of Lucretia Kargère, Grazia Maria Fachechi, Susanna Bracci, Jordi Camps i Sòria, Kaja Kollandsrud, Unn Plahter, Emmanuelle Mercier, Nadia Bertoni Cren, Stéphane Cren, Marie-Blanche Potte, Dominique Faunières, Agnès Blossier, Rui M.
