Research carried out at the IEM and IEM researchers are once again featured in the Jornal de Notícias magazine – JN História.
In issue 45/August, which came out this month, research in Idanha-a-Velha and the collaborative project IGAEDIS, a partnership between CCEIS20/ Universidade de Coimbra, Instituto de Estudos Medievais (IEM)/ Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Município de Idanha-a-Nova,, funded by FCT, is the cover story. The motto was the archaeological excavations carried out this year by the IEM team near the old church of Santa Maria. An article by IEM researchers gives an account of the medieval past of this historic village, together with a report by Pedro Olavo Simões and Pedro Rollo, who visited the team during the excavation campaign.
Also in this issue, our researcher Bernardo Vasconcelos e Sousa gives an extensive interview on various subjects from his life journey, highlighting the role of the historian and the medievalist in understanding the past and the present.
Not least, this issue of JN História opens with an In Memoriam of Professor José Mattoso, who left us at the beginning of July.
An issue not to be missed!
