Patrícia Cardoso Marques has been a historian and archivist at the Marvão Municipal Council since 2016. Between 2013 and 2019 she was also an archivist at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. 

Licensed in History (2010) and master in Information and Documentation Science – Archival (2014) from the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA FCSH). 

Her master’s dissertation focused on the study of a family archive titled: “The Archive Castro/Nova Goa: catalog construction. The application of the Systemic Model”. 

As a researcher at the Institute of Medieval Studies (IEM, NOVA FCSH) she participated in projects related to family archives, in particular the project “INVENT.ARQ – Inventories of family archives, sécs. XV-XIX: from management and proof to lost memories. Rethinking the pre-modern archive”. She gave several presentations and participated in writing chapters for books related to family archives. 

In recent years, she has dedicated much of her professional life to being an archivist, although historical investigation still forms part of her job.
