After graduating in History – Cultural Heritage in 2002, a research specialization on the medieval period was followed, with special focus on themes like the genesis and evolution of the current urban network, material culture as a sign of socioeconomic changes – namely during the process of “political Islamization” of the Peninsula – or its valences to detail the particularities of frontier societies.

In parallel,  several roles within the ambit of the so-called commercial Archaeology were assumed, whether as scientific director in dozens of excavations and other interventions or as a member of public works project management teams.

From 2022 onwards, teaching become another area of action, as invited professor at the Universidade de Coimbra.

In 2024, as result of a research path carried out with the support of an FCT scholarship, a Phd by the Universidade do Algarve was obtained, with the thesis Material culture and settlement in a disputed space: between Tejo and Mondego, in the 6th-14th centuries.
