Iria Gonçalves
Degree in Historical-Philosophical Sciences from the University of Lisbon, where she began her teaching career as assistant to Professor Dr. Virgínia Rau. PhD in Medieval History from the New University of Lisbon, where, in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and until her retirement in 2003, she taught subjects of Medieval History in the undergraduate degree in History and subjects and seminars of the Masters course in Medieval History. She was also responsible for the scientific supervision of several master’s and doctoral dissertations in the field of Medieval History.
Her research has been directed mainly to themes related to the history of the organization of space (rural and urban), food and anthroponymy. Her vast bibliography can be consulted here.
She is a researcher at the Instituto de Estudos Medievais (NOVA FCSH) and collaborator do Centro de Estudos Históricos (NOVA FCSH).
