Historical tradition and technological innovation have interacted very well, opening up new possibilities for research, teaching and dissemination of history and cultural heritage. In this context, the question arises: how do Digital Humanities reinforce interdisciplinarity and promote networking in understanding the medieval period?
The IEM strategic plan for 2025-2029, under the motto The Middle Ages in Action, has among its main objectives the promotion of innovative, multi- and transdisciplinary, integrated and inclusive research, as well as the sharing of knowledge, ensuring universal accessibility data, methods and research results. In line with this plan, we intend to organize a set of activities in the 2025-2026 biennium to take stock of how Digital Humanities are being applied to studying documents, objects, architecture and medieval landscapes.
The first proposed activity is an internal journey with members of the two IEM G.I.’s, integrated and collaborative, which will enable a reflection on the state of the art of Digital Humanities in our UI. This initiative aims to promote innovative, multi- and transdisciplinary research while ensuring universal accessibility to data and knowledge and will take place on February 13, 2025. We also intend to listen to interests for the preparation of subsequent activities.
