The Institute for Medieval Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the New University of Lisbon (NOVA FCSH) and the City Council of Castelo de Vide are organizing on October 5-7, 2017, the II International Medieval Days of the Middle Ages, this year under the theme of “Space and Power in Medieval Urban Europe”.

The program of this second edition features researchers from various scientific areas – history, archaeology and art history – reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to the topic under discussion.

The structure of the meeting will include two plenary conferences given by researchers invited by the organization and thematic sessions running in parallel in two auditoriums.

The Journeys also include a socio-cultural program that includes a guided tour of the town of Castelo de Vide, the Journeys Dinner, as well as visits to Marvão and Ammaia, which will take place at the end of the scientific event. During the meeting, the book that resulted from the 1st International Days of the Middle Ages of Castelo de Vide, held in October 2016, will also be launched.
