From the 15th to the 19th of July, the 8th DEM doctoral retreat will take place, this time returning to the in-person format and bringing together doctoral students from the last three editions of the Doctorate in Medieval Studies (DEM), who, due to the pandemic, had to do without the in-person part of what is supposed to be an intensive week of work between teachers and students of this Doctoral Program.
This year, students will have, as always, days of study and direct work with colleagues, researchers, and advisors, alternated with participation in Congresses, presentation of communications, and visits to Archives, Libraries, Materials Laboratories, and Museums whose collections are related to the areas of specialty of DEM, interdisciplinary training in nature.
This intensive week of study and work is an integral part of the 3rd cycle training in Medieval Studies, an e-learning offer in the association between FCSH and the Open University, which is now in its 9th edition and which also brings together five study centers from FCSH and four Spanish universities, to provide students not only with inter and multidisciplinary training but also with a working environment in which valuing internationalization and participation in academic initiatives can bring added value and increased skills than any doctoral candidate in Medieval studies needs.
This is an initiative in which only doctoral students in this Program will be able to participate, so the detailed Program will only be accessible to participants during the retreat week.
