The second “IEM Ph.D. Student’s Day” will have similar objectives to the first edition, last year, but with a different dynamic.
Although it is also intended that, around the summary exhibition of ongoing projects, a space can be built where doctoral students can make their work known, and discuss it, among themselves and with younger and older members of the Institute, to integrate their research into the broader context of ongoing research in the IEM, this year this day integrates the Doctoral Retreat of the students of the Ph.D. in Medieval Studies (taught in e-learning by NOVA FCSH and Universidade Aberta). This means that, after a morning when the doctoral students of this Ph.D. program will present and discuss their thesis projects with advisors and professors of the DEM, we will have an afternoon where some of our doctoral students, at a more advanced stage of preparation for their theses, will present and discuss them, to provide better mutual knowledge. A forum for the exchange of experiences, both at the scientific level and at the level of working conditions and difficulties experienced by doctoral students, will complete our journey.
All members of the IEM are welcome to join this initiative.
