Between 11 and 13 October the  III International Conferences on the Middle Ages is taking place.

Resuming this discussion forum on the great themes and problems of the Middle Ages, this year the Conference is dedicated to the theme “Inclusion and exclusion in medieval urban Europe”.

Several specialists of different nationalities and from various scientific areas, especially history, archaeology, history of art and literature, among others, will gather in Castelo de Vide to participate in the proposed scientific program [see here].

This space for discussion is open to the attendance of other specialists and people interested in these topics, upon registration.

In addition to the scientific component, the conference will also run a socio-cultural program. During this meeting, the book that resulted from the II International Conference on the Middle Ages and the Autumn School, held in October 2017, will also be launched.

The International Conference on the Middle Ages are the result of the partnership established between the Institute of Medieval Studies of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Nova University of Lisbon and the Castelo de Vide Municipal Council.

Fulfilling the objectives established for the annual holding of these conferences, this edition was preceded by the conferences on the themes: “The role of small towns in the construction of medieval Europe” (6-8 October 2016) and “Spaces and powers in medieval urban Europe” (5-7 October 2017).
