Este curso pretende abordar, analisar e divulgar uma parte significativa da cultura portuguesa que é depositária de nomes, formatos e conteúdos provenientes do al-Andalus múltiplo, nas suas realidades de coexistências sociais, culturais e religiosas.
Fazer translações entre um aspeto de maior erudição, e um registo mais popular, incluindo, na diacronia da História, protagonistas e contributos de cariz mais literário (literatura, poesia, mística, ciência…), ou mais arqueológico e arquitetónico (mudéjar, neo-árabe…), ou de perfil mais antropológico (gastronomia, costumes e tradições …).
Identificar formas de sobrevivência e mutação de heranças culturais entre o medieval e o contemporâneo.

The course organized by the members of the IUS ILLUMINATUM Research Team, hosted by the Institute for Medieval Studies (IEM) in the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities of Lisbon, aims to complement the training of future researchers in Art History, Medieval History and Literature and to provide students with an introduction to the production of illuminated legal manuscripts in medieval Europe (5th -15th centuries) by an interdisciplinary approach.
