Leccionado pelo Professor Doutor António Rei, o curso da escola de verão da NOVA - FCSH, "Heranças árabes na cultura portuguesa – realidades medievais, ecos contemporâneos" (25h), decorrerá entre os dias 3 e 12 de julho, nos seguintes horários:

• dia 3 das 9h00 às 13h00
• dias 4,5,6,7,10,11 e 12 das 10h00 às 13h00

Objetivos do curso:

• Abordar, analisar e divulgar uma parte significativa da cultura portuguesa que é depositária de nomes, formatos e conteúdos provenientes do al-Andalus múltiplo, nas suas realidades de coexistências sociais, culturais e religiosas.
• Fazer translações entre um aspeto de maior erudição e um registo mais popular, incluindo, na diacronia da História, protagonistas e contributos de cariz mais literário (literatura, poesia, mística, ciência…), ou mais arqueológico e arquitetónico (mudéjar, neo-árabe…), ou de perfil mais antropológico (gastronomia, costumes e tradições …).
• Identificar formas de sobrevivência e mutação de heranças culturais entre o medieval e o contemporâneo.

• A múltipla sociedade andalusi;
• A sociedade visigoda pré-islâmica;
• A sociedade andalusi – particularidades e interculturalidades.
• Especificidades do Garb;
• Geografia humana: – Grupos humanos (origens, culturas e religiões …);
• Particularidades idiomáticas (fonética, vocabulário, toponímia …);
• A Terra (as cidades e suas regiões; suas especificidades, suas gentes e suas memórias); Coimbra, Idanha, Santarém Lisboa; Évora; Alcácer, Beja, Mértola; Faro, Tavira Silves, Aljezur;
• O Mar (inter-relação; a viagem, o medo, e a mística;
• Memórias na cozinha e na botica;
• Ecos contemporâneos, entre evocações e novas realidades sociais.

Taught by Professor António Rei, the NOVA - FCSH summer school course, "Arab heritage in Portuguese culture – medieval realities, contemporary echoes" (25h), will take place between the 3rd and 12th of July, at the following times:

Day 3 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th and 12th from 10 am to 1 pm

Course objectives:

• Approach, analyze, and disseminate a significant part of Portuguese culture, which is the repository of names, formats, and contents from multiple al-Andalus, in its realities of social, cultural, and religious coexistence.
• Making translations between an aspect of greater erudition and a more popular record, including, in the diachrony of History, protagonists and contributions of a more literary nature (literature, poetry, mysticism, science...), or more archaeological and architectural (Mudéjar, neo-Arabic …), or with a more anthropological profile (gastronomy, customs, and traditions …).
• Identify forms of survival and mutation of cultural heritage between medieval and contemporary times.

• Pre-Islamic Visigothic society;
• Andalusian society – particularities and interculturalities.

• Human geography: – Human groups (origins, cultures, and religions…);
• Language features (phonetics, vocabulary, toponymy…);
• The Earth (the cities and their regions; their specificities, their people and their memories); Coimbra, Idanha, Santarém Lisbon; Évora; Alcácer, Beja, Mértola; Faro, Tavira Silves, Aljezur;
• The Sea (interrelation; the journey, the fear, and the mystique;
• Memories in the kitchen and in the pharmacy;
• Contemporary echoes, between evocations and new social realities.
