The Institute for Medieval Studies (IEM) has launched the IEM GeoPortal, an online platform dedicated to publishing, managing, and sharing geospatial and cartographic data from the medieval period. This new digital infrastructure, designed to support research in Medieval Studies, is available in open and free access, providing the academic community and the general public with a centralized repository of georeferenced resources related to the Middle Ages. Key features include:
- Interactive map visualization tools;
- Spatial analysis capabilities;
- Downloadable datasets and remote access (WMS/WFS) for research purposes;
- Geodata sharing and management (exclusive to IEM members).
While data consultation and download are available to all users, uploading and publishing new resources is restricted to IEM-affiliated researchers, ensuring the scientific reliability of the shared content.
