As part of the pilot project for the didactics of Fernão Lopes, under the Fernão Lopes Portal, the research team conducted pedagogical resource presentations and discussions over the past weeks with 10th-grade students and teachers from two partner schools: Escola Secundária José Saramago (José Saramago Secondary School) in Mafra and Externato Frei Luís de Sousa (Frei Luís de Sousa Private School) in Almada. At both institutions, the planned activities focused on the collaborative development of teaching materials, promoting innovative and cooperative practices in the teaching of History, Literature, and Portuguese.

The sessions saw the active participation of students from the Atelier de Introdução à Investigação em Estudos Medievais (Introduction to Research in Medieval Studies) at the IEM (Institute for Medieval Studies), who are part of the project’s development team, as well as students from the partner schools. These students had the opportunity to explore and test the new pedagogical materials created by the project team during earlier phases.

The Fernão Lopes Portal is headed by Amélia Hutchinson, while the Fernão Lopes Didactic Pilot Project is led by Tiago Viúla de Faria, both of whom are integrated researchers at the IEM.

We extend our gratitude to the teachers and students from the partner schools for their valuable contributions!

The results of this pilot project will be published in the new version of the Fernão Lopes Portal, currently under development. Until then, our old website will remain available for reference: https://fernaolopes.fcsh.unl.pt
