Marco Rodrigues e Matos
Senior technician and archaeologist at the Municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where he carries out professional activities in the fields of archaeology, history, and cultural heritage, particularly in the management, enhancement, and dissemination of archaeological and historical heritage. He holds a degree in History, with a specialization in Archaeology, from the University of Coimbra, a master’s degree in Cultural Heritage from the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Archaeology, specializing in Landscape Archaeology, at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (NOVA University of Lisbon).
He has additional training in geosciences, museology, and museum management. Throughout his professional career, he has participated in numerous projects in preventive archaeology, survey, excavation, and archaeological monitoring of public and private works, as well as in environmental impact assessments, assuming roles as technical director and co-director.
In the exercise of his municipal duties, he collaborates with the Municipal Museum and regional interpretive centers, developing activities in applied research, scientific support, heritage dissemination, and cultural mediation. He also maintains ongoing activity in research and scientific outreach.
